Introducing Discounts for Homeschooling Families

I have decided to offer special discounts to homeschooling families.  Families need to provide proof that they are homeschooling (from their district or state level) in order to receive the discount.

Individual/Family Discount
On an individual basis, I will offer a 20% discount.  You would still receive the CD with edited photos, and a print release.

Group Discount
If a homeschooling group/CoOp is interested in setting up a day to do group photos I am able to do that as well.  What I would need is at least 10 families willing to meet up on one day, and a single location, for a shoot (each will last about 30 min).  There would not be a charge for the shoot.  Instead, I will post proofs on my website.  If you like what you see you can either buy a CD with all the poses on it for $40 (with print release), or you can buy a package with a variety of prices.

Don't forget to enter my contest.  It ends in a little over a week!

Easter Weekend

Easter weekend was a busy one for me.  I had a lot of family gatherings, but I also managed to squeeze in a shoot with the Haga Family.

This pictures is of my son as he examined the trees.  This was AFTER he did his Easter egg hunt, so perhaps he was looking for forgotten eggs.

The Haga family are good friends of ours.  I was so excited take photos for them.  Their daughter was having a rough day (every parent can relate....) because she fell down and scraped her knee pretty badly.  I think she still turned out well.
I love the expression on Mom's face.

He was such a little stud!  He loved having his pictures taken!

One of these things is not like the other!  My son (right) decided to jump in for the fun.
Here are some animal photos just for fun.

As a reminder, I am running a contest for a free session giveaway.

Spring is in the air! To Celebrate....a FREE GIVEAWAY

Spring is in the air, and that means it is officially my favorite time of year!  To celebrate I am giving away a free photo session.  The great thing is that I am going to allow the winner to give away their session.  I figure this would make a great Mother's Day present which is why I have the giveaway ending the Friday before.  Feel free to enter the contest if you are out of state, or don't need it right now.

All you need to do is click on the link at the end of this email.  You get extra entries for tweeting the contest.

These lovely blooms are from the Dogwood in my front yard.  I took pictures before they disappeared.  They don't look as pretty today because we had strong winds, and possibly frost.

Family Time!

Yesterday I had the opportunity to go out to take family portraits.  The lighting ended up being a bit harsh, but overall we got some fantastic shots.

This little 2 year old was so cute!  She was just as excited about rocks as my son.

This is my favorite picture of the family.

I'm not sure why, but for some reason I love this shot.

Busy Saturday

Saturday was a very busy day for me.  Not only was it finals time for my class, but I had 2 photo shoots.  One was a wedding reception, and the other was for senior photos.

Here are the newlyweds!  Congrats to them!

Next are the senior photos.  We went to Franklin Park Conservatory, Three Creeks Metro Park, and her high school.

More Photos!

I had a request for some specific types of photographs to be added to this blog.  Here are other examples of my work.

I love to take photographs of animals whenever I have the chance.  Here is a flamingo from one of my many trips to the zoo.
I really like capturing real life photos.  Especially little boys playing.  Here is one unexpected photo that I enjoy.  I love how I was able to capture the little water droplets flying off the leaves.
The next few shots were taken during a visit downtown.  It was bitterly cold because it was during the arctic freeze.  I think these shots were worth braving the cold.

This next photo is of my son patiently waiting for someone to push him in the wagon.
Typically, my son hates getting dirty.  He avoids messy foods, refuses to paint, but mud seems to be the exception.  He can find mud anywhere!  He is usually covered in it before I realize that there is mud close-by.

These next two photos I have been able to sell a few copies of.  They seem to be a favorite to some.

End of Life

A friend of mine gave me permission to share some tender photos that I took for her.  At the time these were shot, Len was in hospice care at OSU hospital.  I offered to take some end of life photos for them.  The experience really touched me.  I am very grateful that I had the opportunity to share some last moments with this great couple.

Cute Baby Boy

I know that I don't have many photos posted yet.  That's because previously I wasn't trying to make a business out of my talents.  I hadn't asked permission to use their images from the people that I took pictures of.

One of my friends told me that I could use some of the images I took of her son.  They flew out to Ohio from California to visit, and I was lucky enough to take some sweet photos.

As I have mentioned in my profile, I like capturing real life photos.  This is a perfect example.  Mom was comforting her sweet son.  It is such a tender photo!
This photo I love because the blue of his shirt brings out the blue in his eyes.  It's very natural, and simple.

Introduction to some of my photography

Here are some photos from a session I did for senior photos.

Great head shot!
Here are some of the other photos that I have taken.  I have lots of nature photography, but if you want to see that you can see it here.

I will add photos as I book sessions from here on out.
