Beautiful Baby!

I love birth photography, but I love newborn photography more!  I aim to get natural shots.  Unfortunately, I didn't get of Clara with her mommy because that is me.  I didn't feel like setting up the tripod with a 3 year old running around.  Hope you enjoy the photos!

I adore the rolls in this photo!
And the rolls in this one!
If you need newborn photos it is best to have the photos within the first two weeks of their life.  I would suggest calling to set a tentative booking early.  Then nail down a date once your bundle of joy  arrives.

Right now bookings in February 2015 are 20% off!  Be sure to Like my Facebook Page to stay current on specials that I am running!

Day Old Clara

I love babies!  Here is Clara at a day old!

These were taken at the hospital.  It's best to book newborn photos within the first two weeks of life.  I traditionally like to do natural photos of the family.  If you want props you would need to provide them, but I do have a few.

 To book call 614-859-0831!

Clara's Birth: Warning There are some pictures from the C-section but not graphic.

As the title suggests, there are some photos from the C-section.  They aren't graphic in my opinion...just beautiful and unique.  Most of them I left out, and the ones I put in here are black and white to make it easier for you to look at.

Birth photography is something that I very much would like to get more into.  I love life being created.  I love witnessing families grow.  I begged my husband to photograph my C-Section because I wish more than anything I could have been the one doing it.

This is me relaxing as the procedure is taking place.

This is the first glimpse I had of my Clara.

This picture is extremely unique.  It is a knotted umbilical cord. It can be very bad during a vaginal delivery.  We had no idea it happened even though I was having weekly ultrasounds.  About 1 in 150 births have this happen.

Meet Clara Emmalynn Harmon.  Born 12/17/14 6 lbs 9 oz

My son was convinced I was having a baby whale.  He was amazed that it was a human baby.

First time he touches her.

Do you or someone you know need a birth photographer?  Call me and I will give you a great rate!  614-859-0831

Holiday Photos A Bit Delayed

I know that it has been a long time since I have done any posts.  Most of you know that I was quite sick during my pregnancy with my daughter.  She was born a month early on December 17, 2014 (pictures in another post).  Due to the fact that we weren't sure how her arrival was going to play out we had an unusual Christmas.  We did bare minimum.

Now that she is here I am finally getting around to editing months worth of photos that I have been taken. Sadly, I have not taken nearly as much of her as I should have.

Here are some from our Christmas decorating.  Most of the decorations didn't go up.  We essentially had a tree, and that was it.  We weren't even sure that was going to happen!  We always do popcorn garland on our tree.  My son (4) always looks forward to helping.  So here are a few.  Enjoy!

I am currently taking bookings for the upcoming months.  I am offering 20% off for the rest of February for any session.  On April 1st our prices will go up a bit, so be sure to get your sessions in before then!
You can call me at 614-859-0831 to book your session today!

You can also like me on Facebook to keep up to date on current specials.

Gift Certificates Now Available!!!!

I am proud to say that I have decided to offer gift certificates for photo shoots.  Initially I didn't think it work out well, but I have given it much consideration.  My husband has tried to give me a gift of a photo session for Mother's Day one year, but it never happened.  His intention was there, but we just never had anything set.  I think this happens to a lot of people out there.  So, I decided that I could offer a tangible gift for you to give to someone.  Then that person will have a year to use it.

Here are the dollar amounts that I am offering:

  • $50 gift certificate:  I think this would be ideal for mini sessions.  These mini sessions are good for birthday/school photos of children.  Holiday pictures.  Basic couples photos.  It would be ideal for any grads in your life.  It would give a grad a great chance for those cap and gown photos.
  • $75 gift certificate:  This would be ideal for maternity photos and family portraits.
  • $100 gift certificate:  This would be ideal for engagement photos, senior portraits, and bride and groom.
All gift certificates can be used towards any other session than what is listed, but it would give them a concrete gift.

All gift certificates would expire a year from the date of purchase.  I will do my best to keep track of who has gift certificates to use.  Upon purchase I will get the purchasers name, phone number, and email.  I will also get the name, phone number, and email for the person receiving the gift.  That way I can follow up with the client if it is nearing its expiration date.

In April my rates will be going up.  For those that have purchased gift certificates, they will receive the old rate to line up with the amount of certificate purchased.

All gift certificates will be paid via PayPal account.  That way I can do everything electronically.

The purchaser will have the option to receive the certificate electronically via email, or to have it mailed to them.

Girl's Camp Fundraiser

In June, I will be taking a group of girls (12-16) to girl's camp.  We had to raise a bunch of money to help pay for it.  We provided a spaghetti dinner with free child care, entertainment, and an auction.  Tons of services were auctioned off (including a photography session with yours truly).  Some were donated services, and others were services the girls would provide.

The other ladies involved in the planning (I really came in at the tail end) thought it would be nice to have pictures of the girls on the table with their auction sheets.  While we were there setting up for the dinner, I took the girls out one-by-one to get a unique photo for them.  I only had each girl for about five minutes at a time, but still managed to get a few good shots.

This girl is super talented!  Great vocalist.  Here is a video of her performing (she is much better in person).  I think she walked away from the auction with a few voice lessons.

This is my babysitter.  She is one of the best sitters we have had!  Very responsible, and plays Lacross.

I had individual pictures of all of these girls, but I couldn't resist taking one of all three.
If anyone is doing an auction for a fundraiser in the area, feel free to contact me!

Introducing Discounts for Homeschooling Families

I have decided to offer special discounts to homeschooling families.  Families need to provide proof that they are homeschooling (from their district or state level) in order to receive the discount.

Individual/Family Discount
On an individual basis, I will offer a 20% discount.  You would still receive the CD with edited photos, and a print release.

Group Discount
If a homeschooling group/CoOp is interested in setting up a day to do group photos I am able to do that as well.  What I would need is at least 10 families willing to meet up on one day, and a single location, for a shoot (each will last about 30 min).  There would not be a charge for the shoot.  Instead, I will post proofs on my website.  If you like what you see you can either buy a CD with all the poses on it for $40 (with print release), or you can buy a package with a variety of prices.

Don't forget to enter my contest.  It ends in a little over a week!

Easter Weekend

Easter weekend was a busy one for me.  I had a lot of family gatherings, but I also managed to squeeze in a shoot with the Haga Family.

This pictures is of my son as he examined the trees.  This was AFTER he did his Easter egg hunt, so perhaps he was looking for forgotten eggs.

The Haga family are good friends of ours.  I was so excited take photos for them.  Their daughter was having a rough day (every parent can relate....) because she fell down and scraped her knee pretty badly.  I think she still turned out well.
I love the expression on Mom's face.

He was such a little stud!  He loved having his pictures taken!

One of these things is not like the other!  My son (right) decided to jump in for the fun.
Here are some animal photos just for fun.

As a reminder, I am running a contest for a free session giveaway.

Spring is in the air! To Celebrate....a FREE GIVEAWAY

Spring is in the air, and that means it is officially my favorite time of year!  To celebrate I am giving away a free photo session.  The great thing is that I am going to allow the winner to give away their session.  I figure this would make a great Mother's Day present which is why I have the giveaway ending the Friday before.  Feel free to enter the contest if you are out of state, or don't need it right now.

All you need to do is click on the link at the end of this email.  You get extra entries for tweeting the contest.

These lovely blooms are from the Dogwood in my front yard.  I took pictures before they disappeared.  They don't look as pretty today because we had strong winds, and possibly frost.

Busy Saturday

Saturday was a very busy day for me.  Not only was it finals time for my class, but I had 2 photo shoots.  One was a wedding reception, and the other was for senior photos.

Here are the newlyweds!  Congrats to them!

Next are the senior photos.  We went to Franklin Park Conservatory, Three Creeks Metro Park, and her high school.
